Get Involved

This garden runs on good people.

Whether you want to dig in the dirt, drop a few dollars in the pot, or just show up to a workday and see what happens - there's a way for you to be part of this.

Garden Plots

Rent a bed for the season.

Community plots are available at Hoosick Community Garden. Whether you want a spot to grow vegetables for your family or just a reason to get outside and get your hands in the ground -- there's a membership option that can work for you.

Kaila posts updates on plot availability regularly. The Facebook group is the best place to check for current openings, waitlist status, and any news about the upcoming season.

Volunteer

Come get your hands dirty.

Volunteering at the garden doesn't require any special skills - just a willingness to show up and help. We do planting days, weeding sessions, harvest days, and community workdays throughout the season.

Tell us your name, email, and roughly when you're available, and we'll be in touch when there's something happening that fits your schedule.

  • No experience necessary - we'll show you the ropes
  • Come once or come every week - whatever works for you
  • Help with events, planting days, weeding, seed prep, and more
  • Take home fresh produce when things are really growing

Seasonal Events

What's coming up.

From seed swaps to harvest days, there's always something happening at the garden. Here's what to expect - exact dates will be announced on social media and through our newsletter.

Spring

Seed Swap

Coming up this spring

Bring seeds from your collection and swap with neighbors. Every type, every variety - if you saved something last season, bring it along.

Spring

Spring Planting Day

After last frost - typically late May

Hands in the dirt, seeds in the ground. Everyone welcome. Come for an hour or stay all day - we'll have plenty to do.

Summer

Community Workdays

Throughout the summer

Regular weekend mornings in the garden - watering, weeding, checking on what's growing. Show up, meet your neighbors, take something home.

Fall

Fall Harvest Celebration

Late September / October

Celebrating what grew this season - harvest, food, seed saving demos, and good company. This is the big one.

Fall

Seed Saving Workshop

After harvest

Learn how to collect, dry, and save seeds from this season's plants for next year's garden. All skill levels welcome.
